Not merely an enclave of Austin, the greater Round Rock region’s distinct culture shines brightly. Further past is Georgetown, which is slightly more rural yet still large enough for a small regional airport. Head further along I-35, and you'll encounter Jarrell, a much less developed area that offers incredible investment opportunities.
With plenty of room to grow in a well-established and vibrant community, this historic northern region is right next door to Austin. Still, it maintains an unmistakable character and charm all its own.

The areas north of Austin are nothing short of fun, with endless outdoor recreation and athletics to fantastic shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Locals have all the elements needed for blissful domesticity and use them to their fullest. At the same time, Round Rock and Georgetown inhabitants are just a short drive away from their bigger city sibling if they ever see a reason to leave.
You can accomplish most of your retail shopping needs at Round Rock Premium Outlets, a well-kept indoor/outdoor mall. Its natural layout makes it easy to enjoy the stroll through its numerous department stores, specialty grocers, and countless unique storefronts. The mall also attracts food trucks, and there is an indoor food court as well. We also love The Domain, Pflugerville's upscale outdoor shopping zone.
Downtown Round Rock is another superb shopping destination with a charming main street vibe. On any given day, it seems there's always something different happening in this cozy downtown district, leaving patrons eager to return time after time.
The Salt Lick BBQ is the most popular restaurant in Round Rock, thanks to its all-you-can-eat platter, live music, and ultra-friendly outdoor picnic-style ambiance. Hopdoddy Burger Bar is another excellent option, with fast and friendly service. Burger lovers will love the variety of toppings, from traditional condiments to more eclectic options. Jack Allen's Kitchen has exceptional Southwestern cuisine, serving locally sourced ingredients in an invitingly rustic pub setting.
Round Rock features many beautiful and enlivening outdoor recreation and athletic hotspots. Dell Diamond brings Rangers fans together to watch their affiliate team, the Round Rock Express, from a veritable major league setting. Old Settlers Park is another family favorite, a massive 645-acre swath of land in Round Rock that includes six major sporting complexes, 25 sports fields, a large fishable lake, and even a water park. The Rock'N River Water Park is incredibly popular, and you can reserve sections of the seating area for private events. Austin's Amusement Park is just as exciting, featuring go-karts, mini golf, bumper boats, and high-tech amusement park rides.
Clay Madsen Recreation Center is another great Round Rock amenity for keeping in shape. The large complex is equipped with the latest modern gear, and its instructors host numerous classes and camps throughout the year. Blue Hole Park, along the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, is a fantastic natural recreation space where locals can lounge, swim, and fish. There are also several short hiking trails, and the entire area is beautifully ensconced in majestic limestone bluffs.
Also located in Georgetown is Inner Space Cavern, a historic cave that provides a glimpse of the vast beauty right below North Austin. This fascinating landmark descends three levels and is well maintained and kept safe for all the passing tourists.
The North Austin area hosts great schooling amenities, including these notable options:
